OUR HOMES

At Harmony Care Group, our homes are designed to be safe, nurturing and supportive environments where children and young people can experience stability, belonging and care that meets their individual needs.

We believe that a home should feel warm, predictable and respectful — not institutional. Each of our homes provides a calm setting where children are supported to build trusting relationships, develop emotional resilience and achieve positive outcomes.

Our homes operate in line with:

  • The Children’s Homes Regulations 2015
  • The Quality Standards
  • The Social Care Common Inspection Framework (SCCIF)

OUR APPROACH TO HOMES

All Harmony Care Group homes are small, homely settings that prioritise safety, stability and emotional wellbeing. We recognise that many children entering residential care have experienced disruption or trauma, and our environments are carefully structured to promote reassurance and security.

Each home:

  • Provides a consistent and predictable routine

  • Is staffed by trained, supportive and reflective teams

  • Encourages positive relationships and clear boundaries

  • Promotes respect, dignity and individuality

Children are supported to feel listened to, valued and included in decisions about their daily lives.

WHAT OUR HOMES OFFER

Our homes offer:

  • Small group living to promote stability and individual attention

  • Individualised care and placement planning

  • A trauma-informed and therapeutic approach

  • Support with education, routines and life skills

  • Clear safeguarding and risk management arrangements

  • A strong focus on emotional wellbeing and outcomes

Each child’s care is tailored to their needs, strengths and aspirations.

DAILY LIFE IN OUR HOMES

Daily life in our homes is structured, purposeful and supportive. Children are encouraged to take part in everyday activities that promote independence, confidence and normality.

This includes:

  • Shared meals and cooking activities

  • Education routines and homework support

  • Leisure activities, hobbies and community engagement

  • Opportunities to develop practical life skills

  • Time to relax, reflect and build relationships

Children are supported to engage at their own pace, with encouragement rather than pressure.

CARE PLANNING & SUPPORT

Each child living in a Harmony Care Group home has a personalised care plan that reflects their needs, risks, goals and wishes.

Care planning is:

  • Child-centred and outcome-focused

  • Informed by multi-agency input

  • Regularly reviewed and updated

  • Aligned with the child’s placement plan and EHCP (where applicable)

Children are supported to understand their plans and to contribute their views wherever possible.
